We suffered. Regardless where we live, our jobs, our backgrounds, we suffered from or witnessed sexist and violent behaviors.
We endured. We disregarded it. We tried to act as if nothing was occuring. We ignored our indignation to move on.
We said nothing. Often, we remained silent. Because of the fear. Because of the habit. Because we wanted to forget. Or perhaps, because we wished we were the exception of the rule.
We yelled. Although some were talking long since with none to listen, a few months ago, actresses broke the silence.
We grassed up. They have paved the way. And, millions of women worldwide followed the wave. Thanks to social networks, they shared their story.
We denounced. Then, many women have finally found the courage to report an assault.
We gathered. Because we are sure that tomorrow will be a new day, unlike today and before.
We argued. We are all dealing with sexism but all of us do not agree about the way to respond to it. Because we do not deal with assaults in the same way.
Now we act. We are all different but we share the same will to change things. We want to create a gentler world for those who are suffering, and a safer future for our daughters and sons. Women who are victims of violence deserve to be helped. Therefore, the organisations supporting those women need to receive the supplies to carry their essential work. We are worried : without the appropriate guidance, the victims may be shattered before the justice. It’s time to act. Together, let’s support those who work for so no women have to say #MeToo ever again.
